PsychoNoble is already turning
four? How does the time fly by so quickly?
Well, it probably has to do with half a year of down
time combined with a complete site overhaul.
Yeah... that would do it. The
State of the Website Address is my annual tradition
of breaking down the year that was and look forward
to the year that will be. I attempt to
recollect what happened, what worked, what didn't,
and try to make it so you are somewhat entertained.
It offers you, the viewer, a behind the scenes look
at the fourth year in PsychoNoble's history.
Relaunch. Easily the big theme for
PsychoNoble's fourth year was the complete redo of
the site. But first, a little back story...
Around the new year, PsychoNoble encountered a
problem. We were getting burnt out. We
needed to recharge our batteries. For how
long, no one was sure, but it had to be done. This lead to
an
indefinite hiatus that stretched out for months.
While none of us intended to quit, the future of
what PsychoNoble would be was up in the air.
Should we keep trying to pump out content every
week? Take a more relaxed schedule?
Should we focus our site towards more specific
content? Where was PsychoNoble going?
For months these questions were pondered behind the
scenes. From those questions grew the idea of
a new look for PsychoNoble as well. Designs
were designed and new layouts were laid out.
It was obvious PsychoNoble was changing forever.
When plans started to become finalized, an official
relaunch date was set. Looking to be clever,
we set it for 08-08-08. Little did we know the
Olympics already showed us up by setting their
opening ceremonies on that day as well. Damn
them! But we would not be
deterred. On August 8th, 2008, the all new,
all different PsychoNoble relaunched. With it,
a drastically new look and feel. "Streamlined"
was the key word. By taking away the hurdles needed
to find content, we hoped to make PsychoNoble more
accessible and straight forward.
Along with a new look was the introduction of
columns as ongoing article. There were also a few special things as well, such as a
What Is page, and my first foray into fiction
with
Stranger in a Strange Place. Along with
the new, there have also been countless new Films
and Articles (Well, maybe not countless. I
mean, if you really wanted, you could count them,
because it wouldn't take too long).
As always, the question that comes now is what's
next for PsychoNoble? The main goal, for
myself at least, is to get back on track with my
column pieces that have so sorely been forgotten.
As a whole, we have one potentially big project in
the works. While I can't give many details
(I'm a jerk, I know), it is something completely
different from anything we've ever done for the
site. I'm quite excited about it.
Hopefully we'll get it up for you soon.
And with that, our fourth year is complete. As
always, we'd love to hear from you, the PsychoNoble
Faithful, on our
Message Boards. And for those
of you who do read and contribute, we give thanks to
you. Here's to the fifth year of PsychoNoble
and beyond!
