My Humble, Uneducated Opinion on Abortion
by Alex Anderson

This topic always pisses me off, because it's a bunch of people with different definitions of words coming together to debate the issue with an argument invalid to the opposite party, because of that very reason.  I'll try to describe what I mean in the table below.

The Different Positions

Pro-Life

Pro-Choice

Pro-Choice... Sorta

Basic Beliefs

These people are anti-abortion. They think that it is wrong to dispose of any human life.  Some of these people believe that abortion is okay, if it's for the mothers health or if there are major concerns about the health of the baby.

Basic Beliefs

These people believe that abortion should be legal.  Many of these people also believe that it is wrong to dispose of any human life (confused?... read below).  These people believe that abortions should be legal in all circumstances.

Basic Beliefs

These people believe that abortion should be legal.  Even though they think that it is morally wrong.  These people are generally not the people who set trends.  They also have no balls, and don't stand up for their morals on the political scene.

Definition of Human Life

The moment of conception.  That means, that once the Co-Captain of the high school football team fucks you and one of his little sperm fellas finds it's way to the egg, that life has begun.

Definition of Human Life

Life begins anywhere between the moment of conception and the actual birth, depending on who you talk to.  That means that the Co-Captain can afford to get rowdy, because they'll she'll have a few months to decide if they, ahem, she wants the baby or not.

Definition of Human Life

Umm, life starts uh, when... hmm.  What was the question?  I don't like really know when exactly it starts.  I'd say, at the moment of conception.  What's that?.. It contradicts my stance... then um uh, at birth, yeah, life starts at birth.

My Take

I like this conclusion the most.  It's in stone, "from conception", there's no wavering, with the question of when exactly life begins like 1st trimester, or whatever.  I also like this group of people, because it makes you think that anyone opposed to their cause must be anti-life.

My Take

This conclusion I don't like as well.  It doesn't seem to answer the question of when life starts, which to me is a big deal (because, if it is a life, then it really shouldn't be taken.)  This group of people is respectable, even if I don't agree with them.  Most of them have many reasons for their beliefs.

My Take

I hate these people.  George Bush is one of them.  He'll be like, "I think abortion is wrong."  Then he'll be like, "but, it's up to the woman."  My question is... "Why?"  Why the fuck should it be up to the woman if it's wrong?  The answer:  More votes / George Bush is a pussy.

So you see, the major problem that arises in the debate, is that people can't agree when life actually starts.  I believe that life starts from conception, and I honestly don't have much to back that statement up, there in lies the problem - it's basically all a matter of opinion.  I use a plant analogy, to support my belief.  When a person plants a seed and the roots begin to form underneath the ground (when a man fucks a woman, and a baby starts to grow inside the woman), the plant is already alive (the baby is already alive.)  Yeah, well I just pulled that analogy out of my ass right now, so whatever.  Maybe that wasn't the best way to support my opinion, but I don't care.  All the analogies in the world cannot change that its only an opinion.  So let's just move along.

I think that there is more to be discussed than just the definition of life problem.  One thing that really doesn't make sense to me, is that it should "be up to the woman."  Yes, I am quite aware that the woman is the one that actually has the baby, but I don't think that justifies her ability to make the decision alone.  It seems like I had more to say about this, but I guess I don't.  So, onto the next paragraph.

I guess in conclusion, I pose this question:  No wait, scratch that.  In conclusion, I leave with this thought on my mind, "If abortions were accomplished by kicking the woman in the gut really hard; would abortion still be thought of as okay?"  I wonder this, because it seems like people forget what they are doing, when the abortion is handled by simply taking a pill, or getting a shot, etc.  If the same result occurs aren't the actions equally as bad?

P.S.  If you think that my stance contains no follies, because I took the time to research this thoroughly then take a look at the title.  I cannot reiterate enough the fact that I don't know what I'm talking about, and that I've simply formed an opinion from what little I have heard about the situation.
