I'm sure it's obvious to you that
there are lots of things in the world that bother me. Basically all of my
articles consist of me complaining about something. Yet, there are some
things that anger me above others. Some things that enrage me beyond
comprehension. Some things that are so mind-bogglingly dumb, so ignorantly
stupid, I can't bare to let it sit there and not complain about it. This
is where we will begin.
First off, let me explain something
that it seems most people in the UW community don't understand. It is
called an e-mail list. Often, a professor will send the entire class an
e-mail, and believe it or not, he doesn't write out 400 separate e-mails to each
individual student (what!?). I know I know, I was surprised too. The
Professor actually only sends out 1 (!) e-mail, because there is a a mailing
list (a mailing what?) that automatically sends it to everyone in the class.
So if a certain individual gets an e-mail from the professor, and replies back,
the entire list will get the e-mail. Is it that hard to comprehend folks?
Anyways, let me move forward.
This all started off when we (the
students on the mailing list!?) got an e-mail from our Politics 202 Professor
regarding the recent midterm...
Question #6
and Question #38 on the midterm were incorrectly graded
The answer to 6 was 'shared federalism' not dual federalism (a)
The answer to 38 was 'all of the above' (d)
This was my mistake. Your instructor will correct your scores so that those
who answered the questions correctly will receive the appropriate credit.
Those who were graded as having given the correct answer will not be
penalized. Other students' grades will not change.
My apologies for this added stress. John
Now after reading this, I found out
that I would be getting two more correct answers on my midterm. Which was
nice due to the fact I got a 70% and needed all the help I could get. As
for the people who were wrongly marked correct, they will not be penalized,
which I think is a perfectly fair approach, so students will not have their
grade unexpectedly lowered due to an error.
It seems as though this should be
the end of the story. Jason gets a nice 80% after the added points and the
curve, and walks away a happy man. Well, I guess this still happens, but
in-between that and the beforehand, is one Saima...
Hi Professor
Wilkerson,
I have a comment concerning the Midterm. I dont thinks its fair for people that
marked the wrong answer to #6 and #38 to not be penalized. Either their scores
should be adjusted or these two questions should be free for all. Please
consider this to ensure that everybody was treated fairly on the midterm. Thank
you professor!
Yeah Saima, well I don't thinks
your opinion matters. You know Saima, I can conjure up a few things about
you through this e-mail...
1. I GOT THIS E-MAIL.
Therefore, you don't even have the brains to write an e-mail to the Professor himself
without the entire class of 400+ receiving it.
2. You have poor English and no
matter how many times you try to make yourself sound nice, you are a bitch.
3. Because of the above two, I can
predict that you got both #6 and #38 incorrect and just so happened you circled
in the answers that were still marked wrong.
So let us see what we have here.
You are upset that certain people who marked the answers wrong got them correct,
whereas you marked them wrong and are still wrong... there for you are selfish
want to have everyone who got them wrong marked wrong, or make them a "free for
all" as you call it. I can probably guess that your "free for all" would
involve you getting them both correct. See, here is how I see it.
There are 4 answers per question. It just so happens on those two
questions, 2 of the answers are marked as correct (in the end). That means
you have a 50/50 chance of getting the correct answer, and an even better chance
if, you know, actually studied for the midterm. Therefore, I think you have
no reason to be a bitch like this and try to ruin everyone else's grade because
you were wrong.
Let's say on the off chance that I
am making too many assumptions and you DID actually mark those two correctly, I
apologize for jumping to the conclusion of you getting them wrong. If this
is true though, you are the biggest bitch of all time. You are trying to
lower others' scores when it in no way in any shape or form will change your
score. I'm not going to ramble on too much about this situation though,
because I'm pretty sure Saima is stupid.
BUT WAIT. Why do I even have
to complain at all? Our knight in shining armor, Sean, is here
to save us with his great e-mail to the class!
Considering
that our class is not scored on a curve I don't see why this is an
issue, aside from it being simply pride. I scored them both correctly so
it
doesn't affect me. But if I am ever in a similar situation to where I
scored
them wrong I would definately be bothered by fellow students lobbying to get my
grade lowered, when there's isn't affected.
... I hate you Sean. I hate
you so much. I don't even know where to begin. Well first off, it is
scored on a curve, that was made clear a few times. You know what though,
that hardly even bothers me. I'll let that one slide. What bugs me
is you go on to say you don't see why it's an issue aside from being simply
pride, followed by saying "Yeah I got them both right 'cause I'm hella tight yo,
so it ain't no botha fo a brotha!" It's obviously an issue of pride for
you I see, where you must blatantly tell the entire class that you got those two
right and you aren't even affected by this meaningless debate. Good job, I
give you a medal! World's Biggest Ass! Then you go on to slaughter
the English language and make claims you can't support. Bravo Sean, bravo.
You would think that once you get to
college, you wouldn't have to deal with these types of people anymore.
Well, I understand now that people like this will always be around. People
will always be around to get into your business and be out there to ruin others'
lives, but as long as those people exist, there will also be people like me.
People like me, to mock them, and call them dumb. Let us now join
together, unite, to fight the power, of the idiots!
