Save the best for first.  Yes, you read correctly.  Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is by far the best of the series.  It brought skateboarding to the mainstream public with revolutionary game play and kick ass levels, not from crappy million point combos and unrealistic play of its sequels.  Also, you don't have to worry about damn money, Soul Skaters all the way (Thanks Brink, the movie, not the site).  Now, I'm not saying Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2-37 aren't good games, it's just they can't equal the grandness of the first one.

I decided to relive this great experience, by sitting down on the ol' Playstation Numero Uno (that's Spanish for number one) and play the game from beginning to end, to prove to you that this game is indeed spectacular.

First off, pick a character.  Obviously I go with my main man Bucky!  I remember when I first played this game I used to call him Sucky Bucky, but I grew found of him.

The Buckster!

The first stop for Bucky...

The Warehouse!

Simple, yet genius.  This is a great example of what makes THPS so great.  This level is pretty basic, but probably my favorite of the whole game.  Check out the challenges too.  They are perfect.  Simple, realistic things, like smashing boxes or picking up floating letters that spell out SKATE (wait... realistic...)  There are also the consistent challenges, like every course you have to find the Hidden Tape and two point challenges.  Woo!

Also, to help out beginners, it has those helpful tips...

Remember: Finish your tricks before landing

Have I mentioned I like Bucky's Special?

Fingerflip Airwalk Bitch!

Since I kick ass at this game, I quick beat it in one run by completing all 5 challenges.

Yes, I DO kick ass!  Mutha!

Another thing that has come to my attention is the great soundtrack this game has.  Such bands as Goldfinger and The Vandals appear on this wonderful soundtrack.  I mean, check out these lyrics...

I am the ambassador!
I'm going to kick your assador!

Literary Gold!  So anyways, I quick beat the School course and moved on to the Mall

Dropping into the Gymnasium

Yes, The Mall.  The skater's dream course, or so I'd imagine, since I don't actually skate.  Actually playing this game is the most physical activity I've done in a long time.  Sue me.

Skate to Page 2...
Get it, skate, like, skateboarding... I'm dumb.
