Freestyle Walking 2003: A Year In Review
by Jaybird

The Freestyle Walking season has begun once again.  This, the second season, looks promising already after the first month.  The following will be a brief write up, with pictures, of the first two days of the season.

Matt's insane box jump.

The day began by going to a brand new location, Panther Lake Elementary School.

Sean jumping off a tree.

Today there were four people in attendance, Sean, Matt, Jaybird, and Gavin.

Jaybird jumping a picnic table.

An interesting part of the day was the setting up of boxes and jumping over them/running through them as seen below...

Gavin running through boxes.

After Panther Lake, we went to Illahee Junior High School.  There we found what could be used as a FSW half pipe.

Jaybird doing a hand-plant in the half-pipe.

Although Matt had a few rough falls today (the multiple jumps over the box was really rough on him, and he had a nasty fall onto some rocks in the half pipe), Matt was able to pull off one last huge jump.

Huge jump off brick wall thingy ma' bob.

And so ended the opening day of FSW, but there was still one more day this month of FSW.

Jaybird currently resides in Seattle where he reads comics, works in a library, and writes for this site.  He has also been known to blow your mind, rock your world, and eat pizza.
