Xtreme Sledding: Days of No School
by Jason DeShaw

With school canceled due to the rare occurrence of snow in the Pacific Northwest, a new sport is to be born.  From the minds and bodies of Free Style Walkers comes Xtreme Sledding.  Warning, the following maybe too Xtreme for some viewers.

Everyone knew the storm was coming, the news had been saying it for days.  A "winter blast" was heading our way.  School kids just coming back from winter break, already sick of school on Monday, hoped the storm would come and cancel school on Tuesday.  It did.  The storm came slowly at first, but picked up speed snowing heavily through out the day.  School had been canceled.  The entire world was now covered in a blanket of white powder, and so the idea arose.

Matt contacted Jason about his ideas to seize the day and go sledding.  The two went to the usual Free Style Walking course of Nautilus Elementary school, where there are now many hills perfect for taking sledding to the XTREME!

XTREME Take Off.... WOOOOOOOSH!!

Yes, the snow was fresh and powdery... and XTREME!

XTREME Wipe Out!

Soon the biggest hill was taken over by little kids and big adults who gave us dirty looks.  That's ok though, we were too XTREME for the big hill, we moved on to other more XTREME challenges.

Matt's XTREME Ledge!
