"A timeless tale of a young man
searching for an artistic something something. When
he finally finds what he's been looking for in the
movie Grindhouse, our hero discovers that creative
expression will always be enslaved by the corporate
machine."
For anyone who saw
Grindhouse in the theaters, you'll understand the
pain. For those of you unaware, Grindhouse was
a double feature consisting of Rodriguez's Planet
Terror and Tarantino's Death Proof.
What made Grindhouse special was that was both of
these films together as one, complete with missing
reels, grainy footage, and fake trailers. It
was an homage to classic Grindhouse films. It
was simply one of the most entertaining movie going
experiences in years.
Yet, it
was also one of the biggest flops in years.
Due to poor marketing, the film failed miserably at
the box office. In hopes of trying to recoup
any of their losses, the powers that be decided to
release the film as two separate DVDs, one for each
film. Even worse, they did not hold the rights
to any, but one, of the fake trailers and also
reinserted missing clips back into each movie.
Thus, the DVDs were a shell of the greatness that
was Grindhouse; taking away nearly everything that
was special about the film.
That
is what inspired this PsychoNoble film. That
is, simply, The Tragedy of Grindhouse.
