Bored. Lazy. Geniuses.
PsychoNoble was born. With a new host
and a new name, the future of
the site began to take shape. During these
early years, two cornerstones were formed:
Articles and Events.
The first articles that appeared on PsychoNoble
were a sign of the times. Composed by our late
junior high/early high school aged founders,
articles focused on topics like annoying people at
school, living with parents, and internet speak.
Other articles laid the foundations for things to
come, such as
The Happiest Place on Earth, which was the first
systematic point-by-point super rant by Jaybird.
Early articles also brought in content from
co-owner captainsupremexl and fellow
contributor voldemort.
Events, established early as a mainstay, included Fargo's Nerf Wars and Seattle's
Freestyle Walking. Events recorded what
happened when "we got off our lazy asses and did
something." With a focus on pictures and
eventually video, Events showed off another side of
the PsychoNoble crew.

Nerf Wars and FSW, the first Events
One piece of PsychoNoble that
eventually fell to the wayside was known
as Greatness. At the time, it was a portion
dedicated to all the things that PsychoNoble found
"great." Everything from Conan O'Brien to
Microwave Burritos could be found there, each with a
paragraph or two about why they were great.
While the section is no longer updated, it has been
stored away in the Archives for safe keeping.
Also found on the early PsychoNoble was
A
Pathetic Tribute to Bill Brasky. This hastily
thrown together tribute to the infamous SNL sketches
focusing on simplicity instead of flashiness continues
to be one of the most popular sections of the
website. This led to the creation
of
A Pathetic Tribute to Doug Funnie, another
semi-popular destination for web goers.
PsychoNoble went under numerous face lifts
during this period as it tried to find its place.
From the large and obtrusive to the plain and
boring, PsychoNoble eventually settled on a
simplistic homepage. Navigation at the top,
News in the middle, a Featured Article and Event on
each side, and Greatness at the bottom. The
general design held over into the .com era for
many years.

A thing of beauty
But what finally made our Fargo friends choose to
purchase another domain? A few reasons. Even
with the abortion that was Catheadz.com, the
PsychoNoble crew always had the ".com option" in the
back of their minds. They were older, wiser,
and knew how to do it. Secondly, PsychoNoble's current freepage host, Brinkster,
started posting ads all over the site, as described
in
Brinkster's Scam. Also, PsychoNoble's
horrendously long domain name was currently being
shortened by the cjb.net service, but that too fell
apart due to a terms of service breach
(although none of the PsychoNoblers knew what the
breach was, it probably wasn't too hard to guess
that it was related to thephilomath's Pimpopoly).
Due to these compounding factors, the team
knew they were ready for a change.
On November 19th, 2004, thephilomath, Jaybird,
StretPharmacist, and captainsupremexl moved the site
away from Brinkster and purchased a domain name
through IXWebhosting. After more than six
years of webpage experiments, PsychoNoble.com
finally came into existence.
