The History of PsychoNoble Part 3 - The First Five Years
2003-2009
Friday, November 19th, 2004 marked the beginning of
PsychoNoble.com. The shift from freepage to
.com was complete. Changes were not immediately apparent, but the status quo did not last long.
Articles and Events grew
into important cornerstones of PsychoNoble. Over the first five years
of PsychoNoble.com, over 100 new articles appeared, eventually becoming the main focus of the website.
More Events grew out of FSW and
Nerf Wars creating new ongoing and one-time
features.

No wonder we didn't get those PS3's
PsychoNoble also began testing the water with things
like the Crazygame.exe contest, which proved to be
successful. This addicting
little game somehow brought in numerous entrants. In fact, people
came to believe that PsychoNoble actually created the
game. But the best thing
to come out of the contest was the creator
contacting PsychoNoble, finally reveals the origins of the game. Due to the rigorous
amount of work it took to update
the high score list and the eventual drop in
attention, the contest faded away.
Thanks to one PsychoNoble Summit, and an incredibly
stupid conversation overheard about Krispy Kreme
doughnuts, the Films section came into being. One
might look back at the first film and wonder why it
was even put on the site. One might ask if such
a thing is even worthy of being filmed. One
might think is it a piece of trash... or perhaps... genius?
Either way, Krispy Kreme paved the way for multiple
new films such as Action Blocks and the politically
topical Obama and Co. Sex and Drug Party.

PsychoNoble Films would not have been possible
without this moment
Along with a real website came real website
problems. With actual internet exposure,
PsychoNoble came under attack by a wretched virus
that implanted infected code throughout the website.
This code filtered in through the Message Boards,
wreaking havoc on everything in its path. Humorously enough, IXWebhosting refused to take responsibility for a
weakness in their security, even though the only
infected sites were hosted by them. Weeks of
questions and complaints led only to more and more
denial. The next month they upgraded their
security features.
Greater exposure also brought about a few strange
fans. Due to the popularity of A Pathetic
Tribute to Doug Funnie, a certain Doug fanatic began
communicating with Jaybird via AIM, sending him
pictures of himself dressed as Doug. Then
there was the girl from California who started
sending suggestive emails to Jaybird, but can you
really blame her, I mean, he is pretty much the
hottest guy around.

The first piece of merchandise
PsychoNoble continued on, going through many ups
and downs, until early 2008. It was then that
PsychoNoble decided to go on leave, recharge their
batteries, and reevaluate the website. For
months and months PsychoNoble.com laid dormant, but
behind the scenes great changes were afoot.
The website had lost focus and the creators were
hoping to reinvigorate the site with a new content
oriented design.
On 08/08/08, it happened, the Olympic Games!
Oh, and the PsychoNoble Relaunch.
PsychoNoble.com began a new era, with a new look,
and a greater focus on ongoing articles. Many
features were simplified down into a single
category, while others were done away with
completely, all in an attempt to make PsychoNoble
accessible and streamlined.
That brings us to today. Hopefully you enjoyed
this look behind the scenes at the history of this site. We thank everyone who has
been with us since the beginning and others who have
joined along the way. We hope that
you will be with us for the next five years and
beyond. |
